Community Guidelines

ChicagoBus.org seeks to promote a healthy community filled with valuable and high quality discussions. Therefore, we ask that you please keep the following guidelines in mind:

• Act appropriately. Members should demonstrate a professional demeanor and respect others. Personal attacks are not acceptable.
  
• No unintelligent or irrelevant posts. Posts should be well thought-out and relevant. Posts that do not contribute to the forum or fail to advance a topic may be deleted. Example of violation: Replying to a thread with only "I agree," without explaining WHY you agree.
  
• Backup facts and explain your positions. If making a statement of fact, always provide supporting evidence. For opinions or suggestions, always provide justification for your position. Example of violation: Suggesting changes to transit routes without providing any reasonable justification.
  
• Limit quote lengths. If quoting a previous post in your reply, please only include the relevant points. Trimming quoted text helps keep topic pages shorter and easier to read.
  
• Refrain from replying to old topics. Unless you have significant contributions to make in an old discussion topic, please don't resurrect them. Old topics are generally defined as those with no replies for more than several months.
  
• Only attach files or photos that are yours. Please only post attachments if you own the file or have permission from the author to post it. If a file or photo is freely available elsewhere on the Internet, please link to the source instead of uploading a copy as an attachment.
  
• No commercial advertising. You may not use the forums for the purpose of commercial advertising. You may, however, solicit feedback and suggestions for products based on CTA's developer APIs provided that you disclose your involvement in the application.

Posts violating any of these guidelines may be deleted. Repeated violations of these guidelines may result in removal of posting privileges.
